Fred has left the building

Since the beginning of the year, our office has partnered with App Architecture (App) and RL Fender Construction (Fender) to design and build an addition to our building that would add new offices, a new conference room, and a new 900 square-foot storage space to house over 4,000 client files that are currently stored off-site. As of this past weekend, the construction is officially finished. Fred Boyer, our wonderful construction superintendent from Fender, was here at our office every workday from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for almost 7 months, so we got to know him well. We will miss our friendly banter with Fred and the rest of the construction crew, who always treated us ladies with the utmost professionalism and respect. Thank you, Fred!

We also thank the subcontractors who worked during hot summer days, and sometimes on the weekends, to keep our construction on schedule. The Trade Contractors include:
Concrete – Carter Concrete; Asphalt – Houser Inc; Pre-Cast Concrete – DBS Prestress; Masonry – DaBlees Masonry; Lumber – Requarth Lumber; Carpentry – Koble Contracting; Waterproofing – Dalton Maintenance; Roofing – All Around Roofing; Windows – Alside Supply Center; Doors and Hardware – Carter Lumber; Carpet – McSwain; Painting – Apex Painting; HVAC -The Furnace Man; Electric – Chase Electric; and, Landscaping by Bill Atkin Landscaping.

Last, but not least, we thank our amazingly talented architects from App, Tim Bement and Curt Sparks; our wonderful Construction Manager from App, Brenda Lynn; and Project Manager from Fender, Jeff Kash. These people were the glue that held everyone together for the past 8 months.

We wanted to have an open house at the end of this month so that our clients and colleagues could tour our new building addition, but the open house has been postponed until Spring 2022 when the weather is more pleasant. We will announce the date in our Spring newsletter, so be on the lookout for that information. In the meantime, anyone who would like to tour the building may do so between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00, Monday through Friday. When you arrive at our building, just ask for our Business Manager, Amy Cary, and she will be happy to give you the grand tour.
